Leyden Rovelo-Krull, Director, Hispanic Ministry
Diocese of Kansas City-St. Joseph

English
Leyden Rovelo-Krull is the director of Hispanic Ministry for the Diocese of Kansas City-St. Joseph. She has been involved in ministry and taught faith formation for over 12 years. In her work with the diocese, she spearheads all ministerial efforts with Hispanics on behalf of the Bishop, including Pastoral Migratoria, Pastoral Juvenil and Pastoral de Familias leveraging the use of technology to communicate matters of faith. She has both developed and taught material focused on helping lay people with understanding discipleship, sharing their testimony and having gospel conversations.

Prior to this she worked with the NAIC, the U.S. standard-setting non-profit organization governed by the chief insurance regulators from the 50 states, the District of Columbia, and five U.S. territories to help manage their Member Services division which included member education and training. Here she coordinated relief efforts on behalf of the NAIC to Puerto Rico in the aftermath of Hurricane Maria.

Leyden developed her passion for using technology to reach the Hispanic community while running the New York offices of a Latino-founded, international multi-media social platform and entertainment company where she developed content, researched, and analyzed statistical models of immigration integration and Spanish-language retention/relinquishment in U.S.-born Hispanics.

After graduating Summa Cum Laude from the Jesuit Fordham University, she entered religious formation with the Religious Sisters of Alma, MI. There she was trained in theology and religious formation in the Thomistic tradition.

Currently, Leyden resides in Kansas City with her amazing husband, saintly mother and two very disobedient puppies. One day she hopes to roam the country in her RV, teaching the faith.
